Rotarians raise awareness about Bladder Cancer

29 Palms Rotarians led by Maxine Perket will be walking for 12 hours this Saturday to help fund a cure for cancer. The Morongo Basin Relay for Life is April 1st, no fooling, at Yucca Valley High School from 10 am – 10 pm. Aside from fundraising, each Relay Team educates walkers about a particular type of cancer. This year Rotarians at Work will present facts about bladder cancer, how to prevents it, how to recognize it and how to treat it.

Rotary Bladder

Carnival comes to 29

Our Rotary Club hosts an annual carnival in 29 Palms, CA each March. It is by far our largest fundraiser of the year, raising money for scholarships, books, our Teacher of the Month program and much more. This year’s carnival is March 9-12, 2017 and will be on Joe Davis Rd adjacent to Luckie Park since Luckie┬áPark is being repaved. Thursday night is dollar ride night and as the weather will be perfect, there will be loads of people making their way along the midway – eating funnel cakes and hot dogs, buying silly hats, playing ring toss and enjoying a spring evening in the desert. The food vendors and rides will be in full swing all weekend with tacos, kettle korn, corn on the cob even frozen lemonade. Come out and enjoy the carnival and know it is all for a good cause.
